Farmhouse: earlier C17 origins probably for Sir Thomas Stanley,
extensive rebuilding late C18/early C19 and 3 small C20 additions.
English garden wall bond orange brick, partly Kerridge stone-slate,
partly Welsh slate roof and 3 brick chimneys'. L-shaped plan.
2-storey and attic, 3-bay north front. Windows are 3-light casements
under segmental rough brick heads and door behind C20 extension.
Other fronts have similar heads, some to mullioned and transomed
wooden windows with iron casements.
Interior: Cambered, chamfered fire beam with stone heck. Ceiling
beams are sawn and raised. 2½-storey dog-leg C17 staircase with
reeded square newels, shaped flat balusters and moulded handrail.
Some 3-board doors with iron strap hinges. Heavy purlins and ridge
visible. Upstairs are visible remains of brick hood over fire, in
front of which is a massive stone flag resting on the ceiling beams to
act as hearthstone.
