House. C17 with C18 and C20 alterations. 2 builds, Squared coursed limestone.
Steeply pitched stone slate roof laid to diminishing courses, 4 renewed brick
ridge and end stacks, 2 with chamfered stone bases. Stone coped gable on left.
L-plan. 2 storeys plus attic. 6-window range. Entrance off-centre to right has
6-panelled door in gabled C20 porch. To right of parch 3 sashes with glazing
bars in flush wood frames and with chamfered wood lintels. 3 similar windows
above. To left of porch, three 2- and 4-light C20 wood mullioned and transomed
windows with chamfered wood lintels. Three 2-light similar windows above, 3 roof
dormers with hipped slate roofs, wood casements and wrought-iron casement
fasteners. Interior said to have C17 back staircase brought from The Court
(q.v.) and reused at The Hermitage as main front staircase. Interior no
inspected.
