Farmhouse. C17. Rubble-stone with flint and dressed rubble-stone walls.
Thatch roof, hipped at left hand, gabled at right hand. 4 stacks. 1 1/2
and 2 storeys, intermittently. 8 windows. Ground has 3- and 4-light
stone mullions, hollow-chamfered. Square projecting bay, right of front
door, has a 3-lighter with hollow-chamfered mullions. Wooden and iron
casements, mainly with small leaded lights. Wooden lintels and cills.
Right hand end has wooden mullions with fake lead lights. Front doors, at
left hand, wood plank with glass lights; at right hand, wooden with
muntins and ornamental strap-hinges. Interior: present office has deep-
chamfered ceiling-beam with filleted stops. Rear wing has Tudor-arch stone
fireplace with chamfered jambs, circa early Cl7. 2 keeping-places in the
rear wall. Attached service-range, west of kitchen of 2 rooms. Roof of
jointed cruck construction, with 2 sets of purlins. Back-yard has signs of
drive-shaft (horse-power) for churning milk in rear store.
