GV II*

House. Earlier C16 timber frame, altered 1826. Painted brick,
weatherboarding and plaster. Steep old tile roof with half-
gabled S end. Structurally a hall and cross wing on S, all one
building and always 2 storeys. Closely studded upper storey is
jettied on N end with richly moulded bressummer. Parapet has
moulded cornice and recessed, chamfered plaque on S. 1826
alterations (dated on parapet) are Ground floor Gothic door and
shop window. Door has 2 cinquefoil panels and quatrefoil bands
below and above, continuing over window, which is slightly bowed
with 27 panes. Moulded cornice continues over bricked forward, S
Ground floor containing a 5/10 sash window. 3 small 1st floor
sashes. Scratch-moulded panelling in front room behind bowed
window. C19, wrought iron foot scraper. Very picturesque in the
