1352-0/2/32 The Vicarage and Glebe House

Vicarage, now subdivided. Built in 1851 in Early English
style. Built of Isle of Wight coursed stone rubble with plain
tiled roof and tall moulded wide chimneystacks. Asymmetrical
buildings of 2 storeys with irregular fenestration. Front
elevation has 2 projecting gables and a recessed centre with
gabled semi-dormer, all with saddle stones and kneelers.
Mullioned and transomed windows. Windows to the gables each
have trefoliated heads, 2-light to 1st floor left-hand gable
and 3-light to 1st floor right-hand gable. Ground floor gable
windows all 3 lights and all gable windows have hood
mouldings. Porch between gables has 2 arches with trefoliated
heads. Arched doorcase with wooden and glazed double doors.
Further portion to right of 2 storeys with hipped dormer.
Elaborate rainwater heads and decorated iron guttering
throughout. Left side elevation has left side large gable with
3-light mullioned and transomed window in blind arch to 1st
floor and triple trefoliated windows to ground floor. To the
right is a semi-dormer with triple sash on 1st floor and 5
light canted bay with trefoliated heads to ground floor. The
door between has a modified Caernarvon arch. The rear
elevation has a projecting gable, 3 mullioned windows and
right-hand triple trefoliated window with hood moulding. 1
triple dormer and 1 triple semi-dormer. Right-hand elevation
has 2 gables.
Interior has arch to staircase which has gothic newel post and
2 tiers of balusters. Left-hand ground floor room has marble
bolection moulded fireplace with cast iron firegrate and
wooden panelled overmantel. 6-panelled doors throughout.
