early C18 was reroofed, midstreys added on either side of second bay from the north
and a 5-bay barn added to the south end with a central midstrey on the west front.
The long narrow 11-bay range on the west front of the south end might be late C17

outshut as added in the angle with the rear (east) midstrey. The silo on the east
side was built in 1924. Exterior: A long range of 2 barns with gabled midstreys
Go left and right and a slate roofed outshut in the space between. Projecting at
The right end is a long weather-boarded wing on a tall brick plinth; brick infill
to the timber framed gable end which has a weather-boarded dovecote or ventilation
louvre above. The rear, east side has a low hipped midstrey to the right with a
C20 outshut to its left and to the left of centre a C20 concrete cylindrical silo.
Interior: Original 5 bay barn at north end has vertical studding with waney tension
braces and jowled posts with curved brackets inserted in place of the original arch
braces to the tie beams. Later (probably late C17 or early C18) roof with
diagonally-set clasped purlins above the collars, long straight wind-braces and
complete set of common rafters without a ridgepiece. The late C17 or early C18
5-bay south barn with a narrow central threshing bay has midrails unjowled posts
with curved timber brackets to the tie-beams, diagonal-set clasped side purlin roof
with complete set of common rafters with a ridge-board. The south west wing is
timber-framed, partly brick infilled; a narrow 11-bay single storey range with
vertical studding, straight tension braces, diagonally-set clasped purlins above
straight collars, common rafters complete a ridge-board; some reused tie-beams.
