Three cottages, the north-east and centre ones founded as almshouses in 1583
by Francis Toke of Godinton, and rebuilt probably by Nicholas Roundell Toke
in 1833, the south-west one added 1899 in matching style. One storey ashlar.
Tiled roof with shaped Dutch gable ends. Six casement windows with dripstones
over. In the centre of the 2 original cottages is a porch with a shaped gable
containing a stone inscribed:- "This Almshouse for 2 aged persons was founded
and endowed by Francis Toke Esquire, Anno Domini 1583 and rebuilt Anno Domini
1833". At the south-west end of the south-west cottage is a similar porch
with a stone inscribed:- "This Almshouse was erected by the Trustees of the
Toke and Streeter Almshouse Charity AD 1899".
