Shop and houses, 1656, altered. Sandstone rubble with tile roof. 2
storeys. No.1, at the left, is of 2 bays and has modern windows with plain
reveals. The door, in the right-hand bay, has plain reveals. The left-hand
gable wall has a projecting stack. To its right is a 2-light rebated and
chamfered mullioned window with hood. Above on the 1st floor is a similar
window without a mullion. No.2 has a wide shop window with plain reveals
and 2 modern 1st floor windows with plain reveals. The door, at the left,
has a chamfered surround with battlemented lintel inscribed: '1656 RP'
[Richard Pooley]. Chimney to right. No.3 is lower and of 2 bays. Its
windows are modern with plain reveals. The door, in the left-hand bay,
also has plain reveals. The right-hand gable chimney has a weathered
coping. Inside, No.2 has a moulded shouldered fireplace with moulded
cornice mantel and a firehood bressumer with a mortise for a heck post.
