SD 51 NE CHORLEY YARROW GATE

Farmhouse, dated 1667, now house. Stone, rendered and painted white above
the plinth, stone slate roof (now no chimneys). L shaped three-bay baffle-entry
plan with 3rd bay built as crosswing projecting to rear. Two
storeys; 2-storey gabled porch at junction of 1st and 2nd bays protecting
studded plank door, a datestone above the entrance lettered C , and
W.B

a 2-light casement above this; otherwise 3 windows each floor (those at
ground floor breaking the plinth) all altered casements in oblong openings
with stone sills and heads. Rear has short 2-storey outshut in angle of
wing, modern extension to 1st bay, and openings mostly altered. Interior:
chamfered beams in all bays, inglenook with bressummer in 2nd bay; box-
frame internal partitions at 1st floor; part sunk former dairy in rear of
wing.
