Farmhouse. Probably late C17, altered, with addition at left end. Sandstone
random rubble rendered and painted white, slate roof with brick chimneys.
Three-bay baffle-entry plan, now double-depth, the 1st 2 bays with full-length
outshut; 2-bay wing at left end (this not included in the item). Two storeys;
wide single-storey gabled porch in line with ridge chimney at junction of 2nd
and 3rd bays, door offset to right; altered window above; 2 windows on each
floor to left, the lower altered, the upper 9 and 4-pane sashes. Right gable
wall has a buttress, a doorway behind it, and beyond this a 2-light
double-chamfered mullion window; rear has various small openings. Interior:
housepart in 2nd bay has 2 large beams now boxed; 3rd bay (now used as store)
has axial partition of post and rail timber framing with 2 segmental-headed
doorways and wattle-and-daub panelling; large lateral beam with cyma-stopped
chamfer; some re-used timbers (possibly cruck blades); rectangular stone
fireplace with chamfered surround; 2 blocked windows: a 2-light mullioned
window in the partition to the 2nd bay, and 3-light window at 1st floor of
gable.
