- II
Farmhouse, now store. Perhaps earlier C17, extended in C18. Coursed
sandstone rubble, stone slate roof. Two bays, probably formerly with
gable-end baffle-entry at south end, now covered by added bay. Two storeys;
housepart in 2nd bay has large recessed 5-light window with chamfered
mullions (4th mullion missing) and hoodmould, to right of this a former
2-light firewindow, lengthened and lacking the mullion; 1st bay has one
3-light mullioned window on each floor, the upper damaged; added 3rd bay has
board door with plain surround, a small square window to the right and a
casement above. Left gable has one inserted window on each floor. Interior:
firehood bressummer and heck visible; otherwise altered and damaged.
Overlapping and projecting from the front left corner of the house is a lower
range built at right angles, of similar materials, perhaps formerly a stable
with storage loft, which has on the south (or inward-facing) wall a recessed
doorway with a chamfered depressed arched lintel (doorway partly covered by
slope of ground), to the left of this a 2-light chamfered mullion window, at
1st floor a small blocked opening; and in the gable wall a plain board door.
