Outbuilding at No.30

II

Workshop, now outbuilding, of mid C19 ornamented with fragments of medieval
church stonework. Coursed squared rubble stone and probably Swithland
slate roof with brick left end stack. Quoins and stone coped gables,
the right with finial. 2 storeys of 3 windows with brick cambered lintels
and brick sills. From left: 7x4 pane with 2-light horizontal sliding
sash over; 6-panelled door with 6-pane over; and pair of carriage doors
with 6-pane over. A 1st floor band or shelf is supported by carved head
label stops, some medieval, and above pieces of Perp tracery are set
into wall blanked behind. On left end a 1-light window and fragments
of cusped carving. On right end a 2-light horizontal sliding sash, door
above and window with C19 tracery over. Once a stonemason's workshop,
this building has a unique character.
