Probably erected by the first Duke of Buckingham. Resembles 2 gateways
in the Park at Burley-on-the-Hill. Ashlar and coursed rubble. Pointed
inner and outer arches with chamfered edges and surmounted by architrave,
frieze, cornice and pediment. Corners of pediment support small obelisk
pinnacles with star finials. Modern wrought iron gates with horseshoe
motif.
