House, C17, perhaps earlier origin (one gable end has the remains of a stone finial
which may be mediaeval), altered C18. Of coursed rubble, part rendered, with ashlar
dressings, Collyweston stone slate roof and coped gables. 2 massive side stacks to
north. L-plan. 2 storeys and attics. South front 5 window range, with central
hipped roofed stair turret with finial and weather-vane, 2 light ovolo-moulded
stone-mullioned window recently uncovered, and present entrance beneath lit by
round-headed casement window with glazing bars. C18 sash windows with glazing bars
in raised plain architraves. Wing to south, 2 windows wide, has similar sash windows
to west but irregular fenestration to east including a 3-light ovolo-moulded stone-
mullioned window with cornice over. Further wing to east in line with main block
has ridge stack with datestone B over EE 1684. 2-storey C19 bay window to west
gable end. Interior has C17 oak panelled room with strap-work pilaster strips and
frieze, and C18 plasterwork ceiling.
