Public house, formerly dwelling. Late C16 to early C17. Timber framed though
front wall and south gable faced in brick. Thatched roof. One and a half
storeyed, long plan. Five bays of timber framing, each sub-divided into three
panels visible in the rear wall with straight arched bracing at the principle
posts. Some herring bone brick panel infill. Doorway to left in rear wall
and two casement windows beyond then another doorway. End bay concealed by
additions. Two steeply gabled dormers with 3 light casement windows, and one
eyebrow dormer. Coped gables corbelled out. In the front wall, one bay to
right of doorway containing 3 light horizontally sliding sash window with tiny
panes. 3 central bays have casement windows and there is another doorway
beyond. 2 light horizontally sliding sash windows with tiny panes in the left
hand bays. Single eyebrow dormer above to left, and two casement windows
below the eaves. Gable and axial stacks.
