Large Farmhouse. Late C18 or early C19. Coursed ironstone rubble with Welsh
slate roof. 3 storeyed, symmetrical facade of 3 bays with central door with
decorative fanlight recessed in a reeded wood architrave, with stone voussoirs
above. 12-light sash windows with voussoirs to ground and first floors. 2-light
casements with flat timber lintels to attic. Coped gables, brick gable end
stacks. Rear wing with one 12-light sash window with voussoirs to each floor
and 2-light casement window in attic. Additional blocked window or doorway
to ground floor. Beyond this wing, an additional lower wing, with wide 6-light
sash window with flat timber lintel to ground floor, and 4-light window above.
Gable end stack. Roofed cart entry beyond, then an outbuilding, possibly stable
with hay loft above. Doorway with cambered stone head in gable wall opens
onto flight of stone steps to first floor, and north east elevation contains
2 wide doorways to left and a door with cambered stone head beyond. 2 wide
doors to hay loft above beneath dormer gables with thin timbering, and blue
brick sloping sills.
