House. C15-C16 wing to left, of cruck construction with C17 post-framed cross
wing to right forming T-plan. Much externally rebuilt in brick C19.
Outbuilding is C17, altered. Roughcast, with brick exposed to right side.
Rendered plinth, thatched roofs, rebuilt brick and render chimney shafts
flanking left bay. 1 1/2 storeys; three bays, the right bay gabled and projecting.
Left bay: shop front replaced with three-light barred casement window in the 1990s; 2-light horizontal sash with small panes above,
and C19 early C20 5-panelled door with rectangular fanlight. Centre bay has
3-light barred wooden casements, that to upper storey with small panes, and C20
4-panelled door. Right bay has horizontal sashes, 3-light to ground floor,
2-light to first floor, and C19-C20 half-glazed door. Upper left windows are in
thatch eyebrows. Long outbuilding attached to rear of right wing is part timber
framed with diagonal braces and brick infill, and part C19 brick with vent
slits. Corrugated iron and asbestos roofs. INTERIOR; left wing has cruck
trusses flanking left bay, the left truss with one blade concealed or missing.
Left bay also has original heavy floor joists. Centre bay has later
stop-chamfered spine beam. C17 wing to right has post framing in internal
walls, and small curved wind braces.
