Architect Ernest Newton. Probably designed in 1885 but with internal features of
about 1911. 2 storeys and attics. Ground floor red brick. 1st floor tile hung.
Steeply pitched tiled roof with 3 tall brick stacks. Left side gabled dormer.
Central protruding pseudo timber-framed and plastered section with decorated wooden
bargeboards. Attic 4 light casement and a 1st floor casement set in a wooden
architrave with open pediment, flanked by wooden male and female caryatids. Windows
are double or triple casements as mullioned and transomed casements. Simple round
headed doorcase on right hand side. The off centre main doorcase has a relieving
arch over and a heavy wooden cornice. Traceried fanlight to door. The rear
elevation has 2 gables and canted bays through all floors. The lounge has some
fine panelling, probably circa 1911 with pseudo-Adamesque medallions and swags
above the cornice and anthemion motifs.
