1863-9 by William Heywood (?) Pair of pavilions to bridge containing stairs between
Holborn Viaduct and Farringdon Street in their open, lower storeys. Enriched,
round-arched style. Portland stone. 3 main storeys plus basement and slated mansard
with stone dormers breaking pierced parapet. Statues and other ornament to north
elevations. Iron railed balconies to longer returns. Formerly matched by another
pair of pavilions to north of bridge.
