Sculpture. 'Three standing figures'. 1948. Henry Moore. Darley Dale Stone on low stone
plinth. Site chosen by the sculpter 1950. Exhibited at the London County Council's
first Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition, Battersea Park 1948, and afterwards presented to the
Council by the Contemporary Art Society. 'these disturbing figures...., a synthesis of
the abstract and the Organic..,are the expression in sculpture of what Moore has
described as 'the group feeling' of the Shelter drawings'.
