Late C19 Clergy house of 3 sections built across centre arch, which gives access
to courtyard and to St Peter's (London Docks) to rear. Tablet states building
was erected as a memorial to Father Lowder, founder of the parish and its first
Vicar. Stock brick and red brick, of 3 wings of which outer 2 are advanced.
South wing. 3 storeys and basement, 2 windows mostly sashes, but top windows
fixed 3 light casements. Segmental arches. String courses below sill height.
Coped gable with lancet below and 1 window angled end to street.
Centre wing. 3 storeys. Ground floor has double Gothic arch of red brick under
geometric designs in red and buff brickwork, stone pillars. Above 2, 3 light
windows with stone mullions and transoms and trefoil heads above with brick segmental
arch over all. 2nd floor, 2 sash windows. String courses at sill height.
North wing. 2 storeys and basement, 3 windows. String courses and windows as
south wing.
Facade bears blue plaque recording that Lincoln Stanhope Wright, Vicar, lived
here.
