Corner public house. Probably c.1790-1800 origin, altered as public house
c.1830-40. Stucco faced, with ground floor partly channelled to Manchester
Street return; concealed slate roof. 4 storeys and basement to return.
5-window wide front, 4-window return. Ground floor has wooden public house
front with slender pilasters with composite caps, flanking double doors and
bar windows with panelled risers, supporting entablature-fascia with
modillion bracket cornice. Upper floors have recessed sashes, except for 2
blind window bays, in architrave surrounds. Incised name of pub between
2nd and 3rd floors; crowning cornice and blocking course. Manchester
Street front has one bay return of pub front and similar fenestration, one
window bay blind. Cast iron area railings with urn finials. Included for
group value only.
