Gateway, lodge and office. Stone records opening in 1903. By
Sharpe & Foster. Snecked stone, ashlar dressings, clay tile
roof and applied timber-framing to lodge. Gateway with
pedestrian entrances to either side has 1-storey offices to
left and 2-storey lodge to right. Free Gothic. The gateway
and pedestrian entrances have pointed arches and a carved
lion and unicorn above the central arch are superimposed by
blind arcading. Cast-iron gates. Bold conically roofed
finial at centre. The 2-bay house has a square 5-light
mullion and transom bay window below a jettied first floor
in bay 1. 3-light casements in bay 2 and 5-light first
floor casements. Each bay is gabled and has pierced
bargeboards. Side-wall chimney stacks. 4-bay offices with
6-light mullion and transom square bay to left which has a
blind basket-arched upper stage and a castellated parapet.
Cusped openings in bays 2 and 4 with continuous sill band.
Commemorative plaque in bay 3 below an ogee arch. Coped
parapet and gable. Gable chimney stack. Gabled dormer
window. Decorative foiled panelling to rear of house.
