Church. 1840-41. Stone with slate roof. 7-bay nave has
lancets between buttresses and angle buttresses with gables;
deep, bracketed eaves. Canted chancel apse with hipped roof
and triple lancet window. West end has projecting centre
with gabled angle buttresses and a steeper roof than the
rest of the church. 3 stepped lancets under continuous hood.
Octagonal bell turret has gabled openings with angle shafts
and a short spire with finial. Enclosed porch has pointed
entrance and gable with spherical triangle panel and gabled
buttresses. Interior has galleries on 3 sides on iron Tuscan
columns, organ at west end. Iron columns with arch braces
support hammer beams of roof; trusses have much ogival
cusping. Box pews, and 2-deck pulpit with iron balusters to
steps. Chancel has plain arch with inscription. Altar rail
has cusped openings. Pointed panels with commandments flank
altar. Plaster vault with painted stars. A rare survival of
an early Victorian church interior.
