Very picturesque thatched inn. C18 but probably of older origins. Two and
a half storeys. Painted rubble, left hand brick C19 extension, and brick
dressings to windows (also mid C19). Gable end at right angles to right with
half hipped roof, a small lead lattice casement to attic, and a bay on ground
floor. Main part has 2 chimneys and a small dormer cut into the thatch.
Two mid C19 2 storey wooden bays to left, 2 windows to right, all casement
windows. Two half glazed doors with thatched porches. 'L' extension to right
has stable door and large stone chimney to north. Detached and to north is
a stable block/barn built of rubble, probably C18 but now roofed in corrugated
iron; partly weatherboarded, not of special interest.
Interior: smoke jack to central ground floor fireplace.
