II
Farmhouse,C17 with C18 and early C20 additions and alterations. Timber frame,
squared rubble, brick, weatherboard and tile hung cladding; plain tile half hipped
and gabled roof, a gabled dormer, two brick stacks. Two storeys and attic. Earliest
part is a C17 two unit, timber framed, lobby entry cottage with a C17 timber framed
rear wing with brick infill panels probably an addition. In C18 front range
underbuilt in rubble with a rubble lean-to under a cat-slide roof added against the
entry side. Later weatherboarded cladding to first floor at south end and tile hung
cladding to first floor at north end. An early C20 block in brick painted white
added into angle of main range and wing projects to north side and incorporates main
entrance to house in recessed arched porch to left with a 3-light casement to right
with upper transom. Above, on first floor, a 3-light casement to right and a single
light casement over porch. To left, in north end of main range a 4 light casement
on ground floor, 3-light casement on first floor and 2-light casement to attic. In
east front (lean-to) a central door with glazed upper panel with a late C20 casement
to either side: the right hand window under an original timber lintol. On south
side a 4-light casement in end of main range and similar to left in side of wing on
ground floor: both with glazing bars. Above a large late C20 2-light casement on
first floor of range with. small casement to left. Gabled dormer to wing. Internally
a central stack behind original lobby entry. Interior not inspected but believed
to contain exposed beams and posts.
