1825. G Draper, architect. 3 storeys and basement. 19 windows. Stuccoed.
The ground floor rusticated. This is a very fine building. Originally it
had only 2 storeys and 15 windows. The centre portion of 3 windows pro-
jects slightly with Doric pilasters and pediment, above and garlands in
frieze of entablature. The original ends of the building also project
slightly with a pair of similar pilasters each. Beyond them additions of
2 windows each were put on at the end of the C19. At the same time the
mansarded slate roof with the 3rd storey was added. The dormer windows
have rectangular pediments over them. Stringcourses above ground floor.
Cornice and parapet to original roof. Round-headed doorway up 6 steps
with round-headed windows on either side on ground floor. Imitation
balustrading below the 1st floor windows in the centre projecting portion.
All the other windows ordinary sash windows. The wisteria tree on the
facade was planted by the 1st Matron between 1825 and 1828.
