5/37 Old Hall Farmhouse

- II
Former farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Probably C17, with later alterations. In
2 parts: the main range is to the south, with a lower section adjoining at
right angles to the north west. Colourwashed brick; pantiled roofs with
concrete tiles to the south range. 2 storeys and attics. The north range is
said to have been once used as a dairy: 2 windows, casements under segmental
arches, the left hand windows with replacement mullions in the original
frames. Central boarded door. Crowstepped gables, the right gable with an
integral stack. The left gable has one original window with chamfered
mullions. Exposed floor structures, with plain square oak joists on the
ground floor. The south range is also crowstepped, although the roof appears
to have been raised at a later date. Gable stacks. Various windows, with 2
square mid C20 bays to the main front. Some panelling is said to remain
inside.
