House. Late C16 or early C17. Timber framed and rendered, roof of concrete
pantiles. Small 2-cell, end chimney form. l½ storeys. South side has one 2-
light window with horizontal glazing bars and a central C20 semi-glazed door
enclosed by a timber porch. Stack on outside of west gable end. Beyond this
stack is an early C20 one-storey addition, of colourwashed brick with a slated
roof. Old lean-to on north side, the roof carried down over it. Interior.
2-bay frame has substantial studding with no visible bracing. Central tie
beam removed and replaced by later partition. Main room has chamfered
floorbeam, the joists plastered over. Wide lintol over blocked fireplace.
Girding beam above fireplace, presumably re-used, has pegholes for studding.
Plain joists set flat at service end. Service partition retains C17 door.
Original side purlin roof with some heavy wind bracing (roof not fully
examined).
