Farmhouse, early C17 with crossing to right of c.1800. 2 storeys. 3-cell
cross-passage entrance plan. Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled roofs;
a C17 axial chimney of buff brick, the upper part rebuilt in C20 red brick.
C19 casements at 1st storey, C20 small-pane casements at ground storey. Mid
C19 glazed panelled entrance door with C20 gabled plaintiled porch. Unmoulded
exposed C17 framing. The original cross-passage was moved to right in c.1800,
thereby enlarging the hall and incorporating the former service cell.
Unchamfered floor joists laid flat. Back-to-back lintelled open fireplaces to
hall and parlour (the lintel in the hall is reused from a timber-framed
chimney; and a binding beam with jewelled chamfer stop, and other timbers, are
also reused from a C16 house). Clasped purlin roof.
