Farmhouse. Late C15 or early C16 origins, altered c1600, restored C20. Timber-
framed, and brick, rendered, tile roof. 3 cell, lobby entrance plan, with
continuous jetty to rear wall suggesting house reversed. 2½ storeys, formerly with
cellars. Entrance front. All windows are replaced diamond mullioned casements,
some with leaded lights, those to ground floor of 5 lights, and to each side of
C20 porch and door. First floor: 3-light casement to middle bay, 5-light casement
to right. 2 dormers set closely to each side of stack. Rebuilt multiple saw tooth
axial stack. Rear: 3 ground floor and 2 first floor casements, similar to front.
One dormer. Entrance through lower range attached to south east, formerly kitchens
now storage and garage. Interior: Ground floor, right hand parlour. Early C17
Ipswich school plastered ceiling depicting putti, fleur de lys, roses, pendant
bunches of grapes, between ovolo moulded longitudinal beam, roll moulded lateral
beam. Hall: Deep roll and hollow chamfered moulded beams, roll moulded joists.
Chamfered bressummer, possibly replaced. Pair of heavy jowled storey posts, formerly
braced to tie-beam, supporting quadrate crown post with longitudinal and formerly
lateral braces, 2nd square crown post probably not in situ, both heavily restored.
