House. Mid C16, rear range probably early C16. Later alterations including C20
restoration and additions of porch/stair extension. Timber-framed, rendered.
Plain tile roof, red brick stacks partly rebuilt C20. 2 storeys. L plan. 2½-bay
hall range with lobby entry to left adjoining short cross wing. 3-bay range to
rear of cross wing at slightly lower level. C20 stair extension in angle. Garden
front: C20 casements with leaded lights. Jettied 1st floor with moulded bres-
sumer. Cross wing: 2-light casement flanked by restored ovolo mullion side
windows. Moulded bressumer to jetty. 1st floor 3-light casements with side
lights. Jettied gable. Swept roofs. Stack with 3 octagonal shafts to lobby
entry, similar double stacks largely rebuilt to right end and rear wing. Rear
range part underbuilt in brick. Central C20 door, casement windows. Interior:
hall range, jowled posts, chamfered beams, studded walls. Tudor-arched fireplace
beneath square label. Room to right, plaster ceiling with fleur-de-lys in angles.
Further exposed framing to cross wing. Rear wing chamfered beam with curved stop,
exposed joists to part. Framing exposed further at 1st floor level. Roof
restored C20, inserted ridge piece. Clasped purlins, some reused blackened
rafters to rear range.
