SU 30 SE EAST BOLDRE

11/5 Church of St Paul

GV II

Parish church. 1839 by J Tulloch, chancel added 1891. Brick, some stone
dressings, some render, slate roof. Plan of small single bay chancel and 5
narrow bay nave with west bell-cote. Chancel has sill string, stepped up to
3 trefoiled light east window. Nave has stepped, sloping top buttresses between
bays and diagonally set on corners with corbelled octagonal finials above. In
each bay pointed recessed lancet. West end has large pointed door and tall
lancet either side with smaller one over. At top raised shaped apron to square
section bellcote, rendered on upper part with louvred bell openings. Set-back
small octagonal stone spire.
