Master's Lodge

House. c.1905. Architect John Simpson in Arts and Crafts style. Ground floor
red brick in stretcher bend, 1st floor tile hung. Hipped tiled roof with tall
channelled brick chimneystacks to either end. 2 storeys and attics . 4
windows. Slightly assymetrical. L-shaped building. Left side has projecting
wing. Central pediment with lunette window having leaded lights. 1st floor
has 4 triple leaded light windows. Ground floor has large 9 light mullioned
and transomed curved bay the width of the pediment. To the left of this is a
pointed arched door surround with 3 plank door. Projecting wing to right hand
side has set-back doorcase on wooden piers. Unusual tall iron brackets to
guttering. Rear elevation has 2 gables. Interior not seen, but large brick
and lintel semi-circular fireplace with timber base and period door furniture
reported.
