House and shop. C18, with early C19 features, and early C20 shop. Walls of painted
brickwork in header bond, also Flemish Garden Wall bond, tile-hung east gable.
Tile roof with wrought-iron eaves brackets, slate above the shop. South front
elevation of two storeys and attic, three windows (centre blank above a filled
doorway). Sashes in exposed frames. At the west end is the side entrance of the
early C19, being a porch of a slender Greek Doric order with fluted square columns,
and a half-glazed door. At the east side there projects a single-storeyed shop,
with a large window and a side door. The front boundary is marked by cast-iron rails
on a low brick wall. Lead fire insurance sign above the doorway, embossed 'UNION
A.D 1714'.
