12/4 The Dolphin Inn

II

Inn. C18, mid and late, part refronted C19. Brick, part stuccoed, old
plain tile roof. C18 5 bay, 2 storey and attic, double pile, refronted C19,
and to right taller late C18 2 storey, 3 bay building outshot to rear. C19
refronted part has plinth with doorways in centre and left bay, with 2 steps
in front and C19 top glazed 4-panel doors with rectangular 3-light fanlight.
Windows all 4-pane sashes except for large round-headed central 1st floor
whose head rises to under side or cornice. All openings have rusticated
surrounds, wide 1st floor string course and band below cornice, modillioned
cornice. 3 irregularly spaced flat roofed dormers. Large laterally set
stack between roofs at right end. Right part has high plinth and at left,
above 3 stone steps, half-glazed 4-panel door with blank opening above, and
4 12-pane sashes, all openings with rubbed brick arches and painted keystones.
1st floor string and modillioned cornice. Roof half-hipped with stack on hip.
