Guys Villa Barn

GV II

Threshing barn. 1708. Coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings and stone slate roofs. Single storey. Large irregular quoins to corners and jambs of all openings.
Main, south-west front has projecting section to left containing main threshing opening. Large central cart entrance with timber lintel. To left a single doorway with C19 stable door, to right a broad window opening, now boarded. Set back wing to right has upper loft doorway.
INTERIOR has five original queen-post, timber roof trusses with double staggered purlins. One truss has a tie beam inscribed 'R E I 1708'. The three north-western trusses have unusual pendants which project downwards from the apex of each truss to link through the short collar beams.
