Farmhouse. Mid-C17 with late C19 additions; restored late C20. Part
timber-framed with brick and rendered infill and brick replacement walling
and additions, plain tiled roofs. Hall and cross-wing plan; hall of two
framed bays on east/west axis and has large external chimney with off-sets
to north elevation of east bay; cross-wing of two framed bays at east gable
end. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: four panels from sill
to wall-plate, long straight braces across lower corners, short straight
braces across upper corners; west gable end of hall part has collar and tie-
beam truss with three struts to collar and V-struts in apex; cross-wing has
similar trusses with two struts to collar. North front elevation: windows
are all C20; hall has a ground-floor 2-light and 3-light casement and a
gabled dormer with 2-light casement; C19 stack to right of roof pitch; attic
light in west gable end; cross-wing gable end has two single-light casements
flanking a central C20 gabled brick porch with side lights and C20 door; attic
light in gable above; multi-paned door in angle with hall. Interior: main beams
are stop-chamfered. A timber-framed single-storey and attic wing adjoins the
east side elevation of the cross-wing; also a large two-storey C19 brick
addition adjoins the south side elevation of the hall.
