Farmhouse. Early C17, altered late C18, restored mid-C20. Timber-framed,
painted brick and rendered infill, brick replacement walling and refacing,
plain tiled roofs with parapet at west gable end. Hall and cross-wing plan;
single-bay hall aligned east/west, large external chimney with offsets to
rear; cross-wing at east end of two framed bays with external rubble chimney
and two star-shaped stacks-to east side elevation., Two storeys, attic and
cellar; dentilled eaves cornice to hall, moulded bargeboards to cross-wing.
Framing: cross-wing has three rows of panels above and below girding-beam;
long straight braces across lower corners of both storeys; collar and tie-
beam truss survives at north gable end; two collars with four struts to
lower and two to upper collar. South front elevation: hall has a pair of
C20 cross-casements and a 2-light C20 casement with a cambered head inserted
into a former doorway on the ground floor and a C20 first floor 2-light case-
ment; cross-wing gable end has a large ground floor 4-light casement, a 3-
light first floor casement with leaded lights and an attic light. Interior
noted as having stop-chamfered main beams. Main entrance to rear of cross-
wing has a C20 half-glazed porch. A large C20 lean-to glazed addition adjoins
the west elevation.
