Parish church. C14 tower, the rest rebuilt 1846-47 in C13 style by James
Cranston. Coursed, squared rubble, large eroded ashlar blocks to tower, with
freestone dressings, plain tiled roof. Consists of west tower, nave with north
and south aisles under the same roof, south porch, chancel and north vestry.
West tower of 2 stages with diagonal buttresses, plain parapet and pinnacles;
3-light restored west window and 2-light, cusped windows to bell chamber; half-
hexagonal stairtower at south east. North aisle of 4 bays with 2-light trefoil
headed windows and quatrefoils above; buttresses between. South aisle with 3
single and 2-light windows as north aisle but without buttresses. Gabled
projecting south porch with double chamfered outer doorway and cross finial.
3 bay chancel with tall trefoil headed windows; 3-light stepped lancet east
window and south priest's door. Interior 3 bay arcades with 4 engaged columns,
quatrefoil on plan, dogtooth enriched abacus, chamfered arches. Chancel arch
rests on foliate capitals. Font: C12 - C13, circular bowl on cylindrical stem
and restored octagonal base. C19 pulpit and fittings. Fragments of Perpendicular
style screen on each side of chancel arch, blank traceried panels with fleurous
above. -
