1819-23, by Samuel and John Deykes. Originally the Coburg Baths. Three storeys,
stuccoed, with slate roofs. No 12, the main block, has cornice and balustraded
parapet. Two dormers. Three window, hung sashes with glazing bars, round
heads to 1st floor. Ground floor has central rusticated round-headed doorway
with fluted Doric half-columns, and plate glass shop windows, plain pilasters
between windows supporting frieze with wreath ornamentation. Side blocks have
balustraded parapets and wreaths. Frieze and pilaster treatment extends along
ground floor of No 10, which has gabled 1st floor with 3 small sashes. Round-headed
doorway.
