Farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17, altered and extended during late C18;
C20 alterations. Part close-studded timber-framing to north front with
painted brick infill, sandstone rubble plinth and later additions; slate
roofs. Earlier house aligned east/west with later parallel addition giving
rectangular plan with end stacks; central entrance to north front. Two storeys,
attics and cellars. North front: two 2-light casement windows, one C20 window
to left of gabled porch; part-glazed door. Interior retains chamfered ceiling
beams. The house is said to have been one of three farmhouses given to Sir
Christopher Mallon by Elizabeth I.
