House, used as master's house for school with attached school in C19;
now house. Probably C17 with late C19 alterations and extensions. Coursed
sandstone rubble, crested plain tiled roofs, two ridge stacks. Rectangular
plan aligned roughly east/west with C17 part to west and lower C19 part
added to east. West part: one storey and attic. Three windows under hood-
moulds, each of two lights divided by mullions, two to the left and one to
the right of gabled porch with entry in its west side: 2-light casements,
also mullioned, to east gable. Later C19 canted mullioned bay window to
west gable. East part: lean-to on road frontage joined at eaves to form
almost a catslide; east gable (probably C19 school room) has 3-light
mullioned window under hoodmould. Entrance under lean-to. Walls about
six feet high block off west part. and its porch from roadside and break
in square piers with pineapple finials in front of east part.
