Farmhouse and barn. Early C17 with later alterations. Rubble; stone
slate, slate and corrugated iron roof. Three-room plan, early C17,
aligned east/west, end stacks, each with adjacent spiral staircase, semi-
circular central south porch with side entrance; barn of 2 roof bays attached
to west end, C18. House: 2 storeys, irregular fenestration, 4 windows to
first floor: C20, 3-light casement, 5 opening pigeon loft (3 blocked) with
alighting ledge, C18, 4-light casement, C20, 2-light casement, C18 fixed
2-light casement; ground floor: 3 windows, entrance to left under gabled
canopy; to right: 2-light C20 casement with square label, early C17, 5-
light ovolo mullion and transom window with square label and small fixed
casement in blocked entrance. Interior: 2 rooms to east divided by a stud-
and-plank partition, studs lightly moulded, enclosure to south porch also of
stud-and-plank: original doorhead to west spiral staircase. Barn: large
entry for carts, loft door to right above a 4-light unglazed window with
chamfered mullions. South elevation partially rebuilt C19 in brick.
Interior: doorhead in east wall, similar to that in opposite side inside
house, over blocked opening and timber lintel over blocked fireplace,
indicating that the house was originally longer. (RCHM 1, p 57, no 17).
