Base of churchyard cross with shaft supporting sundial. Base probably C15;
shaft probably late C19 with possibly slightly earlier sundial, inscribed
"Bate, London". Sandstone ashlar. Octagonal base has moulded top edge;
the west side has a niche with a 2-centred head in a moulded square-headed
surround. Upper base of octagonal shaft is a square with corner chamfers
brought up to an octagon. Fluted C19 or early C20 octagonal capital acts
as table for copper sundial (RCHM Vol I, p 229).
