House, used as bank, now club. C18 remodelling of C17 building; mid-C20
alterations and additions. Partly timber-framed with brick refacing, part
brick, plain tiled roof with stack at left end of ridge. Two storeys with
dentilled eaves cornice. Three bays. South front elevation: two bays to
left and centre have full-height canted bay window additions with C20 case-
ment windows; they flank C18 doorcase with moulded flat canopy on consoles;
large panelled pilasters and entablature, (all altered by insertion of C20
boarded panels) and 6-panelled C20 door. The third bay has a wide entrance
with cambered head and double doors and a shallow-gabled half-dormer with
C20 single-light casement; beneath this window is a recessed brickwork panel.
Interior retains heavy ceiling beams and some evidence of wall-framing. Wall-
post visible at rear. The building adjoins and extends partly behind Douglas
Mills and Sulur (qv) at the left gable end.
