The Mount
II
House. Early-to-mid C19. Chequered red and grey brick with slate roof.
Double depth. 2 storeys, on brick plinth. Flat eaves soffits. Hipped roof.
Projecting red and grey brick stacks towards front and rear of left gable
end, and another towards front of right gable end. Regular 3-window front
of two recessed sixteen-pane sashes and blind central window, all with splayed
rubbed brick voussoirs. Two similar sixteen-pane ground-floor sashes. Left
return unfenestrated. Three sashes to right return. Central panelled door
up four steps, with rectangular fanlight with vertical glazing bars, in
panelled recess. Roll-moulded outer architrave with stylized flowers in lieu
of paterae, and with shallow corniced hood. Panelled door with flat hood,
up four steps, towards front of right return, and another towards rear.
Short rear return wing to right, with lower ridge, and slate roof hipped to
rear. Interior not inspected.
