House. Built 1749, facings and other masonry said to have come
from the demolished canons, Edgware. Double pile. Grey-header
walls with red brick window jambs. Rubbed brick lintels and
cornice band. 3 storeys over basement. 5 flat-headed recessed
sash windows with thick glazing bars intact. Good Ionic wooden
doorcase with 3/4 columns, pulvinated frieze and modillioned
pediment. Acanthus sub frieze. Fielded panel reveal and later
half glazed door. Stone steps with iron. railings. Well
preserved interior with original rear-central baluster staircase.
Single storey S extension of early C19 with canted,
weatherboarded, casement bay window (Pevsner (1977)).
