Late C15 or early C16. Timber frame with close studding beneath plaster. Old
tiled roof, cross gabled either end above oversailing 1st floors. Centre, of
1 storey and attic with gabled dormer, may originally have been a hall in which
an upper floor has later inserted. 4 modern lattice casement windows, late C16
or early C17 red brick chimneystack, partly rebuilt. Used as the Parish Workhouse,
1773-1835. Mentioned in 1773 as Scott's Slaughterhouse. Butcher's dwelling in
C16.
