Baptist chapel. 'BAPTIST/MEETING/ERECTED/1835.' on stone plaque on S
gable. Gallery by 1860, rostrum 1903, S porch and minister's vestry
1921. Red brick with slate roof. A tall rectangular chapel 20ft x 40ft,
orientated N-S, with S entrance front, and lean-to vestry at N end.
Interior of 3-bays with panelled rostrum at N end, panelled gallery in S
bay and windows in side walls only in middle and N bays. S front has 2
pointed arched windows with Y-tracery and lattice leaded glazing
flanking the small gabled central brick porch. Above the porch a large
gauged brick oval window with horizontal emphasis, and stone inscribed
plaque over. 2-light lattice leaded windows to sides with segmental
arches and a single iron opening light to each. Entrance under gallery
supported on 2 slender iron columns. (Bryant (1982) VII 4,5).
